Dr. BabajideAgunbiade receives US Congressional Recognition

In 1979, the Congress of the United States created an award called The Congressional Award to honor individuals who had shown initiative, dedication, and success. The Congressional Award is a private-public partnership that was founded as a result of the enabling legislation known as Public Law 96-114. This partnership derives all of its financing from the private sector. Certificates of Bronze, Silver, and Gold, as well as Medals of Bronze, Silver, and Gold, are awarded to participants. Setting objectives in each of the four program areas—Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration—is a requirement for achieving each level.

People in the United States are recognized for their initiative, service, and achievements with the Congressional Award. The Congressional Award is an honor bestowed to people in the United States by the United States Congress. It is non-competitive, voluntary, and non-partisan, all at the same time. It is not easy to get this recognition as it requires a lot of dedication in the areas of volunteerism and philanthropy.
